Southeast Michigan Construction Academy announced Wednesday it will create a permanent location in Westland to provide accredited training for several different construction trades starting this fall.SEMCA provides training in electrical, carpentry, welding and heavy construction across its five locations. It opened a temporary location in Westland in 2021.Its main campus in Madison Heights is over capacity and a new building in Westland will allow more service to apprentices living and working in Southeast Michigan, said CEO Keith Ledbetter in a statement.
